Overview: Continuing on with my previous reports on the potential of the Sing move to be a kick starter to the natural healing process as well as perhaps an evolutionary per-requisit to true healing moves. With the successful location of the missing data files, and settling into the new shared lab facilities, I will be picking up behavior testing soon.

Continued Discussion:
As previously discussed, the correlation between sound and healing properties is undeniable, from a cat's purr increasing bone density to man-made music being used in stress relief. Sleep in and of itself is essential for the body's natural defenses in both injury and sickness. Furthermore, moves already exist that exhibit the proposed benefits of Sing in a much shorter time frame, such as Rest. Rest, through the use of sleep restores Health, and when looking at moves like Sleep Talk and Snore, the potential for alternate uses for Pokemon increases. Though as mentioned in previous reports, Sing does not fall into the known range of sound that naturally increases immune defense and response, it is possible that the origin might be an explanation for why it might have belated healing characteristics. Furthermore, Sing is notable in that it is a normal-type move, but it dominantly found in both normal type and fairy type Pokemon. All of what are considered healing-Pokemon, such as Blissey and Wigglytuff, are capable of learning Sing.
Proposed Experiment: I would like to propose testing this idea surrounding Sing, with Rest used as a positive control and natural healing with time as a negative control. I would like to encourage handling all of the same damage-type before the experiment begins to prevent any strange results as well as looking at over all sleep patterns of subjects Before the experiment begins and compare to sleep patterns after the use of Sing. Because I suspect that Sing is simply a kick start to the natural healing process, this will be a time-consuming experiment, but I believe that it will be over all beneficial to the organization as a whole and would encourage patience in my superiors in humoring this endeavor. Timing is key here, from the few minutes that it takes Rest to ensure healing to the few days to weeks that natural healing induces, the hope is that after the use of Sing once the healing process will be faster than the negative control of natural healing. This being said, while clearly Sing will not show the instant effects of Rest, I would like to time Rest and see if a combination of Rest and Sing does anything to affect the overall time to heal.
Proposed Side Project: While I realize that I am not in a position to ask for a a second grant, I am working with and have access to a field team of recruits through my superior officer Rayy. I would like to look at the effects Sing has on healing time for damaged humans returned from missions, and though not as reliable data, would like to consider the potential affects of increasing natural healing in humans as well. With permission, I would like to use the lab's Marill to greet returning teams to base and document their recovery over the coming weeks before they are sent out again or move to a different location.
Manta looked over the report again and sighed. He wasn't actually sure if anyone read his reports, and didn't particularly care. As long as his work was funded with minimal superior complaints, he didn't care what happened to these reports. Still, sharing a lab space was less than desirable and until he had sufficient data to request his own lab, he would have to deal with it. Oh the pains of being low ranking within a rank-driven organization. He stood from the desk and took off his lab coat, draping it over the back of the chair and scanned the tiny office space for his Piplup. The penguin responded to Pip as Manta had never been particularly creative with names, but she was no were to be seen, so likely off following Rayy around or bothering Sting. He'd have to pick her up later or someone would show up to drop her off here.
Notes of Interest: Potentially will need a trainer available when testing starts as the Marill in use in lab has been particularly unruly after the move. Would like to request assistance now so as not to slow down testing when the time comes.
These last few sentences are jotted down as an after thought, after Manta glanced through the glass into the lab proper and spotted the balls storing annoying Marill pair he'd been working with. He didn't see why he couldn't just barrow someone else's reasonable Pokemon who knew Sing, but still, the Marill were what the grant had allowed and what he was stuck with. Normally Manta really liked Water-type pokemon, but these two Marill were just annoying little pricks. He'd have to write a full complaint on them at some point, but didn't want to risk any excuse to loose funding until he had actual data to show for his work.
The papers are collected, one last look around for Pip before heading out to drop the report off.
